Our Independence Day, 2008

Diana and Noel chose to spend this July 4th chasing down Squished Pennies in the Colorado Springs area. Neither of us had ever been to the top of Pike's Peak so we did our first 14er together. We filled three more books of pennies and got our first Squished Dime. All the while seeing sights of a very delightful part of Colorado.

In between we sampled many of the natural springs spurting in Manitou Springs. We visited Fargo's Pizza joint with a VERY squeaky machine. A broken machine at another restaurant and the Mining Museum and the Pioneer Museum were closed. The only other machines in the area are are the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and Seven Falls, which we decided we'd go another day . . .
