The sandhill cranes migrate through Monte Vista, mid-March, every year and we spent a couple days watching them...and other things.

Monte Vista is home to a very cool motel, the Movie Manor, where you can watch a Drive-In movie from your room out a big picture window. It's gone through much needed updates recently, too.
